In this hot Summer 2023 some novel upgrades have been happening in EPN Consulting and I would like our readers to be among the first ones to be informed.
After 5 years, the EPN Consulting website is going to be revamped and this will be the opportunity to also refresh the EPN Consulting Logo whose story is described below.
The Name – the current logo was designed in 2009 and intended to include the two main professional activities of EPN Consulting: consultancy and the network of professionals. The idea of joining the two kinds of services was pretty innovative in those days: having a network of professional individuals as well as organisations such universities, local authorities, etc. helped generate consortia faster and robustly. This is why the acronym: EPN = European Professionals Network. EPN Members receive customised services and first-hand invitations to projects consortia.
Because our business is classified as professional services, the name was completed with “Consulting”, thus “EPN Consulting”.
Finally, because we were also a network of professionals, we wanted to highlight it and that’s why this concept was added as second line of the name: “The Professional Network”.
The Colours – one of the topics included in our range of consulting services was the European Projects (a.k.a. the EU-funded projects), therefore the logo colours were white and blue with some yellow stars to recall the colours of the EU flag.
The Design – it was chosen a sober and practical rectangular shape that included a right-oriented arrow (made of stars) following two concepts: in English language “right” means “correct” and “opposite to left”. That’s why its positioning.
In 14 years many things have happened: EPN Consulting has grown, it has raised its profile and recognition in Europe, it is known as having thousands of professionals contacts. Brexit also happened and this process caused the exit of the UK from European projects including Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe.
This is why in February 2022 I set up a brand-new company in Dublin (Ireland, EU): EPN Consulting Research and Innovation. The new company needed a new logo: it shows three arrows representing the acronym – EPN – that get to a point and include growth and betterment. The logo received the white, blue and yellow colours from the London-based EPN Consulting as the Dublin company acquired the legacy of our team’s experience in European Projects.
The new EPN Consulting logo, then, is based on the same design as the other EPN, but with the yellow colour replaced by the red which is a reinterpretation of the UK flag colours as a way to honour the location where EPN Consulting has been – and still is – based since 2009.
This refresh will also include the EPN Consulting Newsletter that will be redesigned accordingly.
The new website will be live soon so stay tuned and follow us also on our social media that are growing in contents and information.
Thank you for your loyalty!
